Recent Company News:

Solarium Energy is now using Schott & Centro Solar Modules. Two high quality products, both engineered in Germany.  Schott is manufactured in the USA.

November 2009 - San Diego, CA:  Solarium Energy has partnered with Schott, Sharp and CentroSolar to provide our clients with more options to harness the power of the sun.  Casey Johnson, founder of Solarium Energy states: " Recently, we have been challenged with keeping up with the flood of new products and new faces to the solar industry.  Competetion for installation work and overproduction of materials are driving prices down.  For us, our products have always mirrored our installation practices; quality, quality, quality.  In our evaluations, we have found that we need to offer more than one solution to our clients.  We have found a solution with Schott and CentroSolar.  Both products are German Engineered.  With the Evergreen annoucement of moving manufacturing overseas, we were sent looking for a Made In America Product, Schott was the answer we found.  CentroSolar gives us a more affordable solution, with German engineering and Asian production.  They also have plans for an American manufacturing facility in the near future.  Additionally, we still continue to install Sharp brand products.

Commercial Clients:  The 30% Solar Tax Credit is now a Cash Grant!

Breaking News:

The American Recovery and Investment Act of 2009 allows solar owners to apply for a grant from the Treasury Department in lieu of the 30% Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which was passed late last year.

This means that a cash grant, equal to 30% of the cost of eligible solar projects, can be recouped by system owners. Projects must start construction in 2009 or 2010. Property that is not placed in service prior to December 31, 2010 qualifies for the grant program as long as construction begins prior to December 31, 2010 and is placed in service by January 1, 2017. Applications must be filed by October 1, 2011.

The grant will be issued within 60 days of the solar facility being placed in service or, if later, within sixty days of receiving a grant application. Other key details will be defined in the near future by the Treasury Department.
